Christening Photography at 12 Apostles Church, Hatfield
This was such an atmospheric Winter baptism – I love how the low light really makes the gold on the interiors shine out. Even in late afternoon in Winter, I managed to avoid using flash – this makes such a difference in not interfering with the flow and the feel of the service.

Camera settings for low light services
I keep my aperture at f/2 for most of the service. As christening services are reasonably slow moving, I find that a shutter speed of 1/125 is generally fine, sometimes even slower when everyone’s standing still. The combination of a wide aperture and a slow shutter speed means I can usually keep the ISO at 3200 or below, which I find is ideal for the Canon R6.
