Once kids are school age, shoots later in the day become a great option. Even in Winter, the light in a garden or park is great until around 4.30pm, and then we can head indoors for some cosy family time.
If you’ve previously had a morning shoot, an afternoon session can be a great opportunity to capture a different part of your family routine from the mornings I usually capture – more evening cuddles and chill out time.
If needed, I can set up some small lights to boost the light indoors – they’re compact, and don’t need much space at all.

I had a magical “after school” photo shoot with my daughter in January. Louise captured the evening light so beautifully, and there’s such a sense of fun and celebration in the photos. My daughter and I did all the cosy late afternoon and evening things we love (playing in the garden, making aperitifs, lighting candles, cuddling favourite teddies) and Louise captured the moments perfectly – it was absolutely us but with a gorgeous evening glow. I couldn’t recommend an after school photo session more.”

An after school session in Winter
We have had four amazing afternoon shoots with Louise and it has now become an annual tradition for our family.
Louise has a great talent – she has captured the characters of our boys Oskar and Felix quite beautifully over the last few years!
She captures the enjoyment and excitement of the children’s growing personalities with a great eye, and incorporates their latest hobbies – from teddies and toys to sports and bicycles.
The art of keeping our children excited and interested, together with superb photography skills, has produced beautiful images that our whole family cherish.”
